Partner Dancing – Session Based Course Scheduling VS Drop In Style Packages

As a dance studio owner, you understand that salsa is a great way to, not only express yourself through graceful moves, but to achieve confidence on and off the dance floor.
Being an expert in the art of partner dancing is mandatory to running a successful salsa dance studio. But it’s also crucial to understand the types of courses you offer to students, ensuring they suit their needs and level of experience.
The most popular types of classes dance studios usually offer include session based courses and drop-in style classes. Both types teach basic to intermediate partner dancing techniques, depending on the skill level of your students, with one being more structured than the other.
The pros and cons of session based course scheduling versus drop in style partner dancing classes are outlined below:
Session Based Courses
Session based course scheduling tends to be the most popular, especially among beginner enthusiasts looking to learn salsa basics. Although this type of class can get complicated when it comes to registration and scheduling, there are many pros to consider.
Well structured, organized classes allow students to learn the dance progressively over the course of a few weeks. Students learn the fundamentals and techniques in a step by step manor, allowing them to work on one move at a time before moving on to the next. This type of learning builds confidence and increases growth potential.
This type of course scheduling also provides students with the opportunity to socialize with their peers. Regularly interacting with the other students in the class allows them to practice with individuals who are on the same level. This type of class also allows students to:
Bond with like minded individuals, making it more likely for them to attend the next class.
Learn salsa in a focused and continuous way.
Communicate regularly with the course instructor.
This type of class style also allows instructors to teach larger classes, which are great for matching up partners.
Drop in Style Classes
This type of class is very easy for dance instructors to schedule, but many aspects should be considered before offering it to the public.
The dance level in this type of class varies, but most often caters to the student with partner dancing experience. Although beginners are more than welcome to drop in style classes, they may find it difficult to pick up the skill of salsa without prior practice and understanding. This therefore makes it difficult for long term growth.
As a dance studio owner or instructor, you should also note that this type of class may be hard to match up partners due to smaller class sizes. Because these classes are not as structured, students are also less likely to bond, therefore making it less likely for them to return regularly.
Both drop in courses and schedule based courses have their advantages for people looking to learn salsa and enhance their skills. But it’s the schedule based courses that offer the most value in terms of growth potential for students and routine for the dance studio owner and instructor.

Learn To Dance The Salsa

The word “salsa” in Spanish means sauce. Salsa dancing is also known as slot dancing because couples don’t move around a large area of the dance floor; instead they stay in a more fixed or smaller area of the floor. So are you ready to learn Salsa dancing?
The salsa has an eight beat pattern that is made up of two bars of four beats. The Salsa music is usually complicated and fast with around 180 beats per minute. The salsa pattern is generally one of three steps and then a skipped step or a tap on the fourth beat.
The basic step is as follows: On counts 1, 2, and 3 the leader steps forward, then you replace the weight to your previous support foot keeping it in place, and then step backward. On counts 5, 6, and 7 you step backwards, then you replace the weight to your previous support foot keeping it in place, and then step forward again.
The follower does exactly the same steps but in the reverse order. The basic step is the basis for many of the other salsa patterns.
Some of the breaks to the basic step are:
1. Side Break – You start from either foot and step sideways; then you replace the weight to your previous support foot, keeping it in place.
2. Back Break – You start from either foot and step backwards; then you replace the weight to your previous support foot, keeping it in place.
3. Forward Break – You start from either foot and step forward; then you replace the weight to your previous support foot, keeping it in place.
There are many different salsa styles that involve different timing of the steps or different patterns as you move across the dance floor. Combine style with attitude and personal add ins and you get quite the salsa show!
The Cuban style can be danced as a contratiempo or on-one. With the Cuban Salsa, on counts 1, 2, and 3 a backward basic occurs while on counts 5, 6, and 7 a forward basic happens. The follower mirrors the leader’s movements. It is common practice with the Cuban to have the leader and follower circle each other regularly.
The Dile que no or cross body lead is also essential to the Cuban. This is the most complex of moves and is not designed for beginners. However, once you master it, it can be used in the Rueda, Cuban Casino, and Wheel Dance.
In Latin American countries the Columbian style is the most common. Here the leader and follower do their moves standing in one place. Most of the moves are based off the Cuban style with the main difference being lack of space involved. It’s a very sexy version to watch!
The LA style is a derivative of the Cuban style with the addition of the cross body lead. The leader steps forward on 1, on 2 and 3 it’s a step to the right while turning 90 degrees to face to the left. The follower then steps forward on 5 and 6, then on 7 and 8 turns while the leader is making the 90 degree turn. By the 8 count the leader and follower are in opposite positions. The Los Angeles is the flashiest form of Salsa dancing.
That’s just a few of the most common styles. Of course there are plenty others, and then there’s always the creative element that comes into play.
Learning the Salsa from an article can be a bit overwhelming, but if you really want to learn it check into either local dance classes or online dance lessons. You’ll be Salsa dancing like a pro in no time!

4. Invest at least 50 hours of time
5. Continuously improve your dancing by taking private lessons at least once per week
Finding a great salsa dance teacher can make the difference between being a mediocre dancer and an excellent dancer. In order to find an excellent teacher, try to figure out what you are looking for. If you are looking for a dance teacher to teach you how to become an excellent social dancer, look for a dance teacher that has a lot of experience social dancing. If you are looking for a teacher to help you become a top competitor, look for a teacher that has competed professionally and done well. Don’t be afraid to take lessons from 3-5 teachers if you don’t find one you like right away. It is normal for it to take some time to find a great teacher.
Additionally, you will need to find a great place to practice your salsa dancing. You may consider researching local clubs and dance studios to try to find somewhere that offers a salsa dance night. This can help you to become a better dancer by focusing primarily one dance at a time. Often people have the easiest time learning one dance at a time.
Also, you will want to find someone to practice with. Ideally, it is best to practice Salsa with someone who is more experienced then you. Additionally, you can get some great practice by taking private lessons with an excellent teacher on a regular basis.
Learning how to move fluidly and dance salsa and latin dance well takes a little bit of time. You will need to invest at least 50 hours if you want to see progress and feel confident on the dance floor. This amount of time generally tends to help people overcome their fear of dancing, develop confidence, and learn some cool moves.
Taking private lessons on a regular basis can give you a huge advantage over people who only take group classes. Private lessons are great places to learn techniques and how to become a better dancer.

How To Handle The Disposable Digital Cameras
Disposable Cameras (also called single-use cameras) first came on the market as film cameras. You would take the entire camera back where you bought it and they would crack it open, take out the film and process it, resulting in photos that were virtually indistinguishable from photos taken with a more conventional camera. Now, following the trends in conventional cameras, there is a choice between using film or digital disposable cameras.

Salsa may look difficult but aren’t all dances like that? If you give it a try, learn one or two basic steps and I know you’ll get hooked, millions of people have and they seem happy about it.
My friends used to enroll themselves in a gym to get fit of course. Their enthusiasm was unmatched during the first few sessions and then it slowly died until they no longer attended. Most of them said they had other things to do so they bailed out on their getting fit sessions.
I admire people who are good at dancing and have been doing it a long time, those who do it with so much grace and expression. If there is one thing I wished it would have been to have not waited so long to take a class.
More than getting fit, dance videos are designed for those who want to learn how to dance. I give credit to people who are good at dancing. To be good at any dance, people think that one should be born to dance, but I think otherwise. Yes, there are people gifted of this talent, but that doesn’t mean that if you weren’t born a dancer than you can never be a good one. I believe in the fruits of practice.
This is to say that people like me, who have discovered the interest in dancing at a later age, must not turn a pessimistic attitude towards it. Each movement might seem difficult but if you practice hard enough, you are always a step closer to perfection. There are dance schools out there, and dance videos as well. The latter proves to be of great help because you can take home your dance classes and practice every time you are in the mood.
There are many dances out there to choose from. But if you are looking for a dance that would fit your sexy attitude and your upbeat style then salsa dance would be perfect for you. This dance introduced by the Spanish has a popularity that reaches different members of the dance community worldwide. The steps are not very complicated and one can learn them fast.
If you want to get in shape and lose some extra pounds, there is no better way than learning how to dance. Imagine the amount of calories you’ll be shedding in each dance session!
If you do salsa dancing, you not only dance, you also stretch muscles for fitness and make your body a medium of self-expression, and an effective one at that. These are only few of the benefits people get from dancing. Add to the list meeting new people, being pro and competing, sharing your talent to the world while doing what you love.
To the novice, it may seem an impossible task, to commit oneself to dance, be frustrated at times, but the rewards are great. There is nothing more fulfilling than accomplishing something you have always wanted. Salsa may look difficult but aren’t all dances like that? If you give it a try, learn one or two basic steps and I know you’ll get hooked, millions of people have and they seem happy about it.

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/ – Trim Weight Through Salsa
Most people would suggest that in order to cut down our weight, we must go dieting and gym training. Unfortunately, these things are easier said than done. Going to the gym can be very stressful and time consuming with all the exercises that are to be done there. Also, it is very limited to people who have a good health standing since disabled people cannot participate. This is where the alternative forms of exercise come in. One of which is dancing. With dancing, the whole body is used.
Salsa is one of the most popular and well-liked dances of today. It is considered as one of the trendiest dances today. It came from the Caribbean area as a social dance. It is also believed that it is a fusion of 3 other Latin dances such as Mambo, Rhumba, and Cha Cha. This gives the feel of dancing 3 dances at once. Another thing is that movies have also come up such as “Dirty Dancing” and “Dance with Me” which are starred by famous celebrities Patrick Swayze and Vanessa Williams. This justifies that the Salsa dance floor is not only for Latinos. Salsa has moves which are simple, yet very groovy. The steps are so catchy, even the older population would enjoy it. The moderately fast tunes used in Salsa would surely push people to move and dance which would burn the calories off. Additionally, the music of salsa is so cool and catchy that every beat would give fun.
The steps are quite simple to understand. Basically, the beat is on 4/4 time signature but then the 4th beat is skipped or at rest. That way, the counting would be 1, 2, 3, rest, and then the counting continues.
Here is a brief introduction on how to dance the basic moves:
Your stance should be in a way that you are standing with both your feet close together.
1st beat – Step your left foot forward. By doing so, you’re also putting your weight on your left foot.
2nd beat – With the left foot still forward, shift your weight back on your right foot. This may give you the idea of stepping your right foot in place.
3rd beat – Bring your left foot back in place with your right foot.
4th beat – This is considered as the rest period wherein you may prepare for the shifting of foot for the next beat.
Then repeat the steps using the alternate foot, which at this instance is the right foot. Of course when dancing with a partner, alternate feet are used when stepping forward. For example, the man steps his left foot forward while the woman steps her right foot forward.
A quicker way to learn dance steps is to check out dance videos which are readily available online.
All in all, salsa is something that is accepted and loved by different cultures due to its simplicity with its steps and patterns yet the fun it could give you. This makes the once dreadful fat loss treatment now an enjoyable experience. Also, it enables everyone to socialize with a lot of people while removing stress and maintaining fitness.

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/ – Salsa: Fitness And Art
Are you tired of the classical exercises of jogging, bodybuilding, stretching, and gym training? Then you better take into consideration of salsa dancing. Dancing is also a form of exercise. Salsa would be a good choice if you are to start a new exercise regimen.
Salsa involves a pair of dancers who intricately moves their arms and legs. This dance is very prominent to the majority of the population. A beat is skipped in the usual four-beat form using three steps in making salsa patterns. The name of the dance came from the Spanish word “salsa” which means sauce in English. This is because of the dance moves and techniques involved in salsa, which would be described as pungent and passionate.
Learning the salsa dance is not difficult. You begin the basics by modeling specific dance patterns into four-beat music.
From there, you could now proceed to the 7 FUNDAMENTAL STEPS in learning HOW TO DANCE SALSA:
On the first count, step forward with your left foot. Next, step in place with your right and bring your left foot back to center on the third count.
Then pause at the fourth count or you could voluntarily tap your right foot.
Remember that each step requires a full weight transfer.
Finally on the eighth count, exhibit another pause.
Remember that each step requires a full weight transfer.
Since salsa is a dance with partners, be alert and careful that as one goes through the steps above, the other would move the other way around. With one’s left foot forward, the other’s right foot steps back.
Anyone can be a dancer of salsa with its simple patterns. Nonetheless, improvement must always be present. Grace must be practiced in order to be blended with your moves. By doing so, you would get good effects on your dance. Dexterity would then be developed. There are different beats, patterns, and music which are variations of salsa. The elegant Cuban salsa would be one good example of a salsa variation. The Los Angeles style of salsa would also be another good comparison. Take your pick on which one to master!
Salsa would help you maintain a fit figure and also have a good exercise plan (which saves you gym expenses). That is just a part of its benefits. It also gives you new friends when you interact with a partner, gain self-confidence better, and acquire skills. This dance could even change the way you look in life!
With more friends and better health you will start to see just a few of the benefits of Salsa come your way!
While you explore this new exercise in its magnificent form of expression, be sure to keep these few things covered:
Enroll in a salsa dance class or private lessons.
Choose attire you find most comfortable.
Browse salsa dance videos in many websites on the internet for additional information about the dance.
Keep motivated and enjoy what you are doing.
Keep motivated and enjoy what you are doing.
keep practicing because it enhances your skill and intensifies your interest!

What You Need To Know About Salsa Dancing
What You Need To Know About Salsa Dancing
If you are still convincing yourself on whether to try salsa dancing or not, there are a couple of things that you should keep in mind when deciding.
As history recounts, the salsa dance was brought to us by Cuban or Puerto Rican immigrants, but no one really knows how it became so popular so quickly. The important thing, though, is that it is created by the Spanish speaking people of the Caribbean and that it is a lively fusion of beats and music from the Latin culture.
Salsa has a wonderful and colorful history. Although it is still undetermined who or where the salsa dance has originated, it is still, undeniably, a plus point for the dance, making it highly attractive for everybody and also very popular among non-dancers. The fact that it doesn’t exactly have a culture that it can be identified with allows it to be as free as a bird – no inhibitions, no cultural backgrounds to respect and stick with. May be it is even the very reason why you can improvise with salsa as long as you have the dance’s basic principles.
However, in order to understand the complexity of salsa dancing, experiencing it is a must for women, to fully learn the salsa dance; they should be able to make use of their bodies like shaking and moving in a sensuous, creative and playful manner. The men, on the other hand, have to be assertive, on the lead and be very confident, so he can be able to lead the sexy salsa dance and succeed in pulling it off. So, if you are planning to start learning how to dance salsa, you must remember a couple of things before you start.
Preparation is also important. There are a lot of resources and guides that one can use when one is planning to learn how to dance the salsa. For example, one might consider looking for dancing manuals and books to see a the more technical and scientific side of the steps involved in salsa dancing. One can also watch instructional and performance dance videos to see how the professionals execute the dance steps.
Also, you can further help yourself by practicing with some salsa instructional videos to give you some idea how the classes will be. By studying in advance, you can give yourself a better edge and also increase your confidence that may result in a better performance. Remember, if you know what you are doing, you can feel confident about yourself, giving you better results.
Never be afraid to move your hips. Again, salsa dance involves sexy movements, meaning you really need to move those hips in order to do the dance.
Salsa dancing is not only an excellent dance style but a vibrant and healthy practice that can do wonders for one’s personal and professional life. It is also easy to learn and do. Try it out and see the benefits that salsa can offer you

Salsa Dancing: A Great Workout Alternative
Salsa Dancing: A Great Workout Alternative
Salsa dancing can be a good alternative for working out. A primary reason why most people stop following exercise and workout programs is their lack of goal setting and of course, motivation. This is why a growing number of the population shift to salsa dancing in order to compensate for their regular dose of exercise, as it not only trumps a regular workout by being fun, but it can also be an easy way to lose weight.
In the gym or when doing regular exercise practices like jogging, repetition resistance exercises, or weight training, there is a danger of boring or discouraging yourself due to the repetitive, exhausting, and even extremely hard exercise tasks required to be repeated in order to be successful. And, the results of all this hard work cannot be obviously seen during initial few weeks or even months at the start of the program. Salsa dancing is completely different from this.
Starting to learn dance, specifically the salsa dance is totally different from the gym based exercise programs. It is extremely enjoyable as salsa dancing – moving and grooving to the energetic salsa beats – is fun and easy. Learning how to dance salsa can be as easy as watching several dance videos and practicing in front of a mirror. Because most people learn dance with partners it is also a great personal experience.
In addition to this, there are a wide range of different salsa dancing styles that you can choose from. Unlike working out at the gym where you are only limited to a couple of different workout machines and methods, salsa dancing can offer you variety that can easily spice up any dull routine. If you learn the basic steps and principles of salsa, you can easily shift to any of the different styles like New York style, Miami style, Casino Rueda and the most popular LA style.
Salsa dance lessons are also easy to find. Apart from being a fun activity in itself salsa dance lessons can also help you create more friends who have the same drive and passion towards learning how to dance salsa. Public salsa dancing lessons can become good way expand your social network while enjoying a good and fruitful workout.
Salsa dance lessons can be easily found in most cities and are also offered at affordable rates. Salsa dancing lessons can be undertaken in one to one, group, or even public settings. These salsa dancing lessons are great opportunities for meeting new people with the same passion and interest toward healthy living and dancing. There are also a lot of events and tournaments sponsored by the local salsa community that a new salsa dancer can join, further expanding the chance for social networking.
No matter what it is that you are looking for, a pastime, an effective method to lose weight and get toned, a new hobby or skill, a way to meet and interact with new people, or just to relax and eliminate stress, choosing to learn salsa dance is always the best move. With salsa dancing, there’s completely nothing to lose, except for your shyness and few excess pounds, yet there’s a whole lot to gain

Salsa Dance – At Home?
Salsa Dance – At Home?
Review of Salsa Crazy – Dance Course
I recently came a cross a online training course that teaches the beginner dancer to Salsa dance in the comfort of their own home.
Salsa Crazy offers a great solution to those who want to get moving at home because they can’t get out, or maybe are just a little shy or don’t know where to start.
Do you have small children that keep you schedule on lockdown (we all know what that’s about).
Are you not yet comfortable to get on the dance floor?
Would you like to spice up your at home workout routine?
This product may help!!!
Things I like about this course:
Immediate Download:
let’s face it there is something wonderful and exciting about instant gratification. Once you make your purchase you are given a link with immediate access to the entire program. No waiting for the “snail” mail to arrive or waiting for the next course in you email each day.
Clear and Concise:
short and sweet the videos get to the point with clear and and easy to understand instruction – one or two steps at a time. With appropriate breakdown of how to do the step and clear description of how this should be done, these videos make it simple to learn the basics and them put them together with music.
Progressive in Nature:
one thing about taking any kind of dance training is that it should build on it’s self. This is sometimes a problem for people that sign up for a class and then miss a week or two due to scheduling. This program has a really nice and natural build that you can do on your own, or use for the in between if you miss your group class. After a few videos of learning steps, the instructor puts them together with music – you’ll really feel like you are dancing in no time!!
Passionate Instruction:
It is so easy to pinpoint instructors that truly love what they are teaching and have a passion for sharing that knowledge. I find this instructor to have a great personality. He is one of those teachers that stand out to me as – Ah, yes, he really loves what he is doing right now! This quality in a teacher is a gift to a student who can learn quickly and painlessly while having fun!
What’s wrong with this product?
If there was anything I would like to see improved about this product it would be a few videos added with longer combinations which would incorporate a longer cardio and workout!! But, I must realize that that is not the purpose of this product. Dance Fitness in my thing, maybe not his! And…you’ll still get good core work with your latin rhythm, good lower body activity with the steps and ultimately burning calories throughout!
All in all I say it’s a no-brainer, get this product if you want to enhance your Salsa, get started in Salsa, or supplement what you are already doing in Salsa.
Priced very fairly it is accessible to any budget and an easy way to implement learning salsa into your life!
If you are interested in learning more about how you can benefit form these fantastic online videos click here now!
Get yourself moving, today.
Dance. Move. Live!!
